How much does a fence with concrete columns cost: a 30 m worked example

The price of a fence is made up of several parts, and the easiest way to understand it is with a real example. Below we price 30 m of fence with 3D BETON columns in three options, using list prices.

What the price is made of

Before doing any multiplication, it helps to know what goes into the budget:

• columns (the unit price depends on the model and height);
• caps, one for each column;
• infill between the columns: your own or our concrete panels;
• materials for the 400×400×700 mm pier footings and concrete to fill the column cavities;
• delivery across Ukraine and unloading;
• installation by partner crews or by your own contractor.

The example

Take a straight run of fence 30 m long, with no gate or wicket, 2 m high. The “Wave” and “Chain” models use a centre-to-centre column spacing of 1.7–2 m, so for this example we take 2 m.

Number of spans: 30 m ÷ 2 m = 15 spans. There is always one more column than spans, because each span rests on two columns and neighbouring spans share one column. So you need 16 columns and 16 caps. With a shorter spacing you would need more columns, and the total would go up.

Option 1: Column 40 with your own infill

Column 40, 40×25×200 cm, is UAH 3,448.25 on the price list. Caps start from UAH 700 each, depending on size.

• columns: 16 × UAH 3,448.25 = UAH 55,172;
• caps: 16 × UAH 700 = UAH 11,200 (from);
• columns and caps together: from UAH 66,372.

Option 2: Column 78 with your own infill

Column 78, 80×25×200 cm, looks more massive and costs UAH 6,685.25. A wider column is likely to need a cap above the minimum UAH 700, which is why this total is shown as “from”.

• columns: 16 × UAH 6,685.25 = UAH 106,964;
• caps: 16 × UAH 700 = UAH 11,200 (from);
• total: from UAH 118,164.

What about the infill

In options 1 and 2 the space between the columns is filled with your own infill: pickets, louvres, ranch boards, metal sheeting or timber slats. You buy it separately from your own supplier, so price the infill separately and add it to the column total.

Option 3: an all-concrete fence priced per m²

If you want the whole fence in concrete, the ready-made models are priced per square metre. The fence area in our example is 30 m × 2 m = 60 m².

These are simplified list-price guide figures: the area is taken as length times height. The exact area, number of sections and what the price includes are fixed in the estimate. For “Classic” the list price applies to a 2300 mm panel, and a shorter panel means a higher price per m². “Wave” and “Chain” are made from 3 sections upwards. All models are in the Fences and columns section.

• “Wave” or “Chain”: 60 m² × UAH 2,704 = UAH 162,240;
• “Classic 40”: 60 m² × UAH 2,427.75 = UAH 145,665 (from);
• “Classic 80”: 60 m² × UAH 2,535 = UAH 152,100 (from);
• premium “Tyn”: from UAH 5,000/m², i.e. from UAH 300,000 for 60 m².

What else to budget for

The figures above cover the products only. The following are priced separately:

• delivery across Ukraine by a 10–20 t truck or as part of a shared load;
• unloading with a truck-mounted crane or a forklift;
• installation by partner crews;
• a site measurement visit, if needed (it is paid);
• materials for the footings and for concreting the columns.

Payment and lead time

Payment is 50% upfront and the remaining 50% before shipment; for non-standard items the prepayment is 70%. Production to order takes about 1 month on average. The products carry a 20-year warranty.

To save money without losing the look, you can mix models: the more massive columns go on the street side, while Column 40 is used on the long side runs.

Summary

A 30 m fence with a 2 m spacing needs 16 columns. At list prices, 16 Column 40 units with caps start at UAH 66,372 and 16 Column 78 units with caps at UAH 118,164, plus your infill. An all-concrete fence of 60 m² starts from UAH 145,665 at list prices. The final price is calculated individually, and delivery and installation are extra.
